La’Keylah White is the President and CEO of Grants Unlimited, LLC.  Grants Unlimited is a governmental and non-profit consulting firm specializing in grant writing, grant administration, and community planning/development that was recently established in May 2017.  

 

La’Keylah is a hands-on executive who brings over 20 years of experience in the field of planning and development; most of those years have been spent working with federal and/or state grant programs.  Disciplines include housing, transportation, environmental, land-use, zoning, grant writing, community and economic development.  Most recently she served as Director of Federal & State Programs Department for the City of Hattiesburg.

As director of the Federal and State Programs Department, La’Keylah was responsible for overseeing the administration of several programs funded by federal and/or state agencies.  Leadership responsibilities included executive management of four divisions: Community Development, Hub City Transit, Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)/ Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Brownfield/Grant Writing with an annual budget of approximately $3M.

She also served for several years as a grant administrator with North Central Planning and Development District (NCPDD) where she successfully secured grant funding for multiple counties and municipalities.  During this period her projects received various accolades including the Governor’s Project of Excellence Award for “Best Homeowner Rehabilitation” and the MS Municipal League Excellence Award for “Planning and Economic Development”.  

 

La’Keylah is active and has served on multiple boards and committees.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the MS Public Transit Association and is member of the American Planning Association.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern MS in Community Planning and Area Development and a Masters of Business Administration from William Carey University.  She was recognized by MS Business Journal as a 2016 Top 50 Leading Business Woman.
